Save Our Monarchs

Why we got Involved

The Monarch Butterfly appears on all of our labels for a reason. The Monarch Butterfly is one of nature’s greatest mysteries. With its migration path beginning in Southern Ontario, thousands of these butterflies, travel over the Great Lake Erie, through Point Pelee Peninsula in Kingsville, Ontario and on to central Mexico. The Monarch begins and ends their journey in each of our farm regions. But the monarch population is in trouble, and so we’ve partnered with Save Our Monarchs to help save the Monarch population by way of their food source.

Milkweed plants are the only source of food for the monarch caterpillar. But these plants are rapidly disappearing, due to the loss of habitat stemming from land development and the widespread spraying of weed killer on the fields where they live.

We want to promote the recovery of the monarch population now. One milkweed at a time. The Save Our Monarchs Foundation is solely dedicated to saving the monarch butterfly by planting more milkweed.
